Emergency issues call 911
Prepare for each storm day predicted and an additional 72 hours worth for emergency. Extra food that does not reqiure cooking or refrigeration. Such as dried fruit, nuts, and granola bars. Don't forget to have supplies for your pets.
Have enough medications for storm days and additional 72 hours/3 days worth for emergencies. First-aid supplies.
Keep cell phones charged. The SOS system (when cell services are down) should allow you to send out 911 calls/text out.
Make sure your flashlights and batteries are acceptable and in working order. Have extra batteries on hand.
Prepare for duration of the storm and 72 hours for emergency use. Refuel before empty or before the storm. Fuel carriers may not reach you for days after a winter storm.
Using firewood, makes sure you have a good supply ready and accessible. Don't forget to have fire extinguisher and test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
